MUSIC

Fish Hoek Primary School aims to provide each pupil with a well-rounded musical experience. We offer a multitude of different instruments, a keyboard lab, choirs and bands. We believe in nurturing each budding musician in their own time and exposing our pupils to various opportunities to take their musical journey further. 

• Individual music tuition is offered in Piano, Guitar, Violin, Ukulele, Drums, Saxophone, Trumpet, Flute, Clarinet, Recorder and Vocal Coaching. These take place during school hours.
• Grade 4&5 Rock Band (Audition required)
• Grade R and 1 have Music and Movement classes bi-weekly during school time.
• Grade 2-7 classes take lessons bi-weekly in our designated Keyboard Lab.
• Grade 1-3 classes also participate in weekly singing.

Are there choirs? 

We have a Junior and a Senior choir that rehearse weekly during school time. 

Do you have a band? 

Yes, we have three bands and a saxophone ensemble. We have a Jazz Band and Grade 6 and 7 each have their own pop band. 

Does the school produce plays or musicals? 

 We put on a yearly production for all Grades as well as a Nativity Play for Grade R and Grades 1 – 3. We also have music concerts throughout the year and a sunset concert at the end of the year.
